emergency medical supplies

emergency medical supplies information
static ground-to-air emergency signals?
I read a story in which people whose plane had made a forced landing signalled that they needed food and medical supplies to the rescue aircraft.
these signals were straight lines drawn in the ground; once drawn, then were left to be seen by anyone that flew over.
apparently, different arrangements of straight lines mean different things, from “we’re ok” to “get us out of hereasap!!!”
i’ve been trying for ages to find out what shapes these signals are – all i can find on searching the web is how to make the shapes with streamers, etc – but NOT what shapes to make them!
can anyone help?
thanks much
Frances
PS i don’t really think that this question belongs in “science – engineering,” but that’s all Yahoo offered – since it doesn’t seem to have a “survival” category …
I see what you mean. Its like their trying to hide it. But I thank this is what you want.
